As we progress through the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes, uncertainties and added health risks have all put a great strain on our mental health. This has impacted all aspects of our daily life, including the workplace. Many workers have relocated to a working from home environment – some, for the first time – or have had to adapt to work environments with heightened restrictions and requirements. At this time, it is critically important to provide mental health support to all employees, including leaders.

  • Break the silence
    Let others know mental health is not a taboo subject.

  • Make self care a priority
    Take care of yourself so you have the capacity and energy to navigate this new space.

  • Control what you can
    It is easy to fear the uncontrollable. Do things such as practicing proper hand hygiene and mask wearing to control what you can.

  • Set boundaries
    Set clear personal and professional boundaries while working remotely to meet the demands of both home and work.

  • Take breaks
    Remember to take time for yourself, even just a coffee break.
